Get Glittered

From “we want this” to a badge on the door.

Six steps, about five hours of a manager's time, 45 minutes for each member of staff, and £95 a year for an independent venue with everything included.

The six steps

  1. Do the readiness check

Ten minutes online, then a free 15 minute call. We tell you where you stand and what to do next.

  2. Qualify on the six

The six core competencies every good venue needs. Hold Best Bar None and you have them. If not, a template for each and our help.

  3. Train your people

One manager does a three-hour online course; the team does a 45-minute online module. Unlimited seats, included.

  4. Do the Ten

Sign the pledge, put the cards and posters up, write your courtesies list, publish a few lines online, put the QR cards out.

  5. We check your evidence

Upload the evidence for the Ten and we check every item at a desk.

  6. Visited, then earned

Volunteer Ambassadors visit unannounced. Pass both and the badge, the window sticker and your place on the map are yours. Reviewed every year.

About a month

Most venues go from first conversation to badge in four to six weeks.

Five hours

Of management time, spread across the month. Forty-five minutes for each member of staff.

Ten minutes to start

The readiness check tells you whether you qualify on the six and how much of the Ten you already do.

What you need before you start

  • The six core competencies in place, or a plan to get there with our templates and a free 15 minute call.
  • One manager or senior team member to be your Inclusion Lead.
  • Wherever physically possible, one self-contained lockable toilet that anyone can use. The accessible toilet counts.
  • A website or social media page.
  • An incident log. You already keep one for Best Bar None.

What you get for the fee

  • Training with unlimited seats, for the Lead and for every member of staff.
  • All materials: the pledge, the door, search and toilets cards, the courtesies list, the poster, the QR cards, the badge and the window sticker.
  • The evidence check, your place on the map and one re-visit if something slips.
What if we fail?

You get sixty days to put it right and one re-visit, included in the fee. Nobody pays to fail.

Do we have to book anything from you?

No. Nothing you buy from us, from Glitterbomb or from any partner makes any difference to whether you get or keep the badge.

We already have an inclusion sticker.

Keep it. A sticker says what you intend. This checks what you do.

Can we start before we have Best Bar None?

Yes. You need the six core competencies in place, which Best Bar None covers. If you do not hold it yet, we give you a template for each of the six and help on a free 15 minute call, and we point you at Best Bar None when you are ready.

Who decides, and can we appeal?

Two people decide, never one. You can appeal any decision within 28 days under the published Complaints, Appeals and Delisting Policy.

If something happens to you tonight
