Venues and estates

Earn the badge that people go looking for.

Independents, multi-site estates, clubhouses and events all reach the same standard by different routes. Whichever you are, the base is Best Bar None, the training is ours, the test is unannounced and the badge is public.

Get Glittered

Four routes to the same badge

Independent venues

An area onboarding session with up to four other venues replaces the individual visit. Training for your team, a live lived-experience session, then the random testing pool. A small independent rate exists so the badge is never only for the chains.

Pub and bar estates

Delivered the way Best Bar None already works: your area managers take a one-day Area Champion course, cascade the 45-minute module on your own LMS under licence, approve one facilities policy your legal team has signed off and complete a short evidence check per venue. We audit that evidence at random and test every area. Nothing in your BBN cycle changes.

Sports clubhouses

Non-league football, rugby league and community clubs. The clubhouse and bar are accredited on a clubhouse rate, matchday stewards are briefed on the door rule, and the badge goes on the gate.

Events and festivals

Accredited per event day. Welfare team session, accessible facilities policy, reporting route on every stage screen and a post-event belonging survey.

Why estates come first

Ten accredited venues in one area makes a testing area: testers walk ten venues a night, every venue is tested at least once a year, and the area gets a published pass rate its BID can use. Estates make areas. That is why the first estates through the door get the most support.

One cycle, not two

Your Best Bar None assessor carries the evidence check. There is no second inspection.

Sponsor-funded year one

Responsible-drinking sponsors can fund an estate's first year in full. Sponsored venues are tested identically to paying ones.

A benchmark you can quote

Your estate appears in the first national inclusion benchmark for hospitality, by area, by brand and by group.

Pricing principles

The full price list is published at launch. These are the rules it obeys.

Not-for-profit

Surplus is reinvested in testing, training and the annual benchmark. Fees to directors and to connected companies are published.

One list, no quotes

Every venue sees in advance what it will pay. No bespoke rates and no hidden extras.

Small pays least

A small independent rate and a clubhouse rate. Estates pay per venue and the rate falls with scale.

Nobody pays to fail

One supported improvement window and one re-check are in every fee.

Testing is never waived

No price, partner or sponsor takes a venue out of the random testing pool.

Signposting is free

Helplines and reporting routes appear on every poster at no charge to anyone.
