What's on

Where to find us, and what Glittered venues carry into the room.

Glitterbomb nights, Prides and partner dates we will be at or supporting, then the campaigns we stand with and the eleven dates every Glittered venue keeps. We promote the campaigns; we do not claim them. None of these organisations has endorsed the Standard unless it says so on their own site.

Where to find us next.

Glitterbomb nights, Prides and partner dates. Awareness days are in the calendar below and in the Coming up bar at the top of every page. Confirmed dates only. Around 270 Prides run in the UK each year and most announce between November and March, so this list grows through the winter.

The campaigns Glittered venues carry.

Ask for Angela

A guest who asks for Angela at the bar is taken somewhere safe, offered help and helped to leave discreetly. Point nine of the Ten, trained and tested in every Glittered venue.

Same Side, UN Women UK

Uses sport to give young men a different story about masculinity, with a conversation guide for parents and a bystander film. Glittered venues are rooms where bystanders act.

Best Bar None

The Home Office supported safer socialising accreditation the Standard sits on.

Hidden Disabilities Sunflower

The lanyard that says "I may need more time or help". Every Glittered venue recognises it and one of our Ambassadors wears one.

Purple Flag

The town and city centre standard for safe, welcoming nightlife. Glittered venues are evidence for a Purple Flag area.

Report It

Police-backed online hate crime reporting. On every Glittered poster and inside the private facility.

Intersectionality Awareness Week, ParaPride

A week each May on the lives of people at the intersections: disabled and LGBTQIA+, queer and Black, Asian or Indigenous, trans and disabled, refugee and queer. Created by ParaPride. Dates for 2027 to be confirmed.

The year a Glittered venue keeps.

Across all four strands, LGBTQIA+, disability, neurodiversity, and race and faith. Each date comes with one thing to do: staff briefed, the poster refreshed, something on the socials, and where it fits, something in the room. Nobody does all of them; the ones your guests care about are the ones to keep.

  • October
    Race and faith

    Black History Month

Door rules re-briefed; programming led by Black promoters and performers; Be Inclusive Hospitality and Equal Measures resources shared with staff.

    Neurodiversity

    ADHD Awareness Month

The needs-led courtesies list refreshed and re-briefed; the "autism is not intoxication" door rule read out at every shift briefing.

    LGBTQIA+

    Rainbow Laces Day, 8 October

Bar team wears laces, the Proud Pledge goes on socials, the sports screens show it. Belongs in every clubhouse and every pub with a match on.

    Everyone

World Mental Health Day, 10 October

Samaritans and Switchboard lines on the socials; the poster checked and replaced if tired.

    Everyone

National Hate Crime Awareness Week, 10 to 17 October

Reporting routes on every table; the non-inclusive incident procedure re-briefed; host your local police licensing team or hate crime officer.

  • November
    Disability

    Purple Tuesday, first Tuesday

Access information checked and republished; Euan's Guide listing updated; the courtesies list refreshed.

    Race and faith

    Islamophobia Awareness Month

Guests who do not drink welcomed properly: alcohol-free range visible, nobody pressed; the door rule re-briefed on faith and dress.

    LGBTQIA+

Trans Awareness Week, 13 to 19 November, and Trans Day of Remembrance on the 20th

Facilities policy re-briefed; Galop and Switchboard prominent; a quiet moment on the 20th.

    Disability

UK Disability History Month, mid-November to mid-December

Every member of staff re-briefed that most disabilities are not visible; the Sunflower on show at the bar.

    Everyone

White Ribbon Day, 25 November, and the 16 Days of Activism

Ask for Angela retraining; the Same Side conversation with staff; male staff make the White Ribbon promise.

  • December
    Disability

International Day of Persons with Disabilities, 3 December

Step-free access, the accessible toilet and the private facility checked and photographed; anything broken fixed before the Christmas rush.

  • January
    Race and faith

    Holocaust Memorial Day, 27 January

A moment of stillness on the socials; the non-inclusive incident procedure read again at the first briefing of the year.

  • February
    LGBTQIA+

    LGBT+ History Month

A queer night, a queer DJ or a queer performer on the programme; the story of a local LGBTQIA+ venue on the socials.

    Race and faith

    Race Equality Week, first week

The team module re-sat by anyone who has not done it in the year; the door rule re-briefed on the same rule for the next person in the queue.

  • March
    Neurodiversity

    Neurodiversity Celebration Week, mid-March

A quieter night or hour published in advance; sensory information refreshed; ear defenders behind the bar if you hold them.

    Race and faith

International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, 21 March

Incident log reviewed for the year: how many non-inclusive incidents, how each was handled, what changed.

    LGBTQIA+

Trans Day of Visibility, 31 March

Facilities card re-briefed; the private facility sign checked; trans staff and guests visibly welcome on the socials.

    Neurodiversity

World Autism Acceptance Week, late March to early April

What to do when someone is overwhelmed re-briefed: one person, quiet, space, time, no security escalation.

  • April
    LGBTQIA+

    Lesbian Visibility Week, late April

Harassment of lesbian and bi women by men named for what it is at the shift briefing; Ask for Angela re-briefed.

  • May
    Disability

    Deaf Awareness Week, early May

How a deaf guest gets out if you evacuate checked against your own procedure; a written menu and a pen behind the bar.

    Everyone

    Intersectionality Awareness Week, second week

Disability and LGBTQIA+ on the same night: the search card and the courtesies list re-briefed together; ParaPride resources shared with staff.

    Everyone

    Mental Health Awareness Week, mid-May

Samaritans on the socials; staff reminded of their own route to raise something.

    LGBTQIA+

    IDAHOBIT, 17 May

The venue's belonging data shared with staff; the poster refreshed.

  • June
    Disability

    Learning Disability Week, mid-June

The Easy Read Ten shared with staff; a large-print or digital menu checked; nobody asked for proof of anything.

    Race and faith

    Windrush Day, 22 June

Programming and the socials led by Black British artists and promoters.

    LGBTQIA+

    Pride season, June to August

The badge on the float; a Glitterbomb night; Ambassadors recruited at Pride; and the year-round question, what happens here in November?

  • July
    LGBTQIA+

    Non-binary People's Day, 14 July

The name a guest gives you is the name you use; ID is reasonable likeness and age and nothing else.

    Race and faith

South Asian Heritage Month, 18 July to 17 August

Alcohol-free range and food for guests who do not drink; South Asian promoters and performers on the programme.

  • September
    Everyone

    Welcome Week

SU venues re-briefed; new starters complete the module within the month; belonging QR cards on every table.

    LGBTQIA+

    Bi Visibility Day, 23 September

Bisexual guests named rather than assumed at the briefing; same-sex affection treated like anyone else's.

If you run a national campaign on safety, inclusion, hate or violence against women and girls and you want it in the rooms where nights out happen, Glittered venues are the delivery network you have been missing. One conversation.
